D.J. Romano NJAC Defensive Player of the Week

SUNY Cortland sophomore cornerback D.J. Romano is the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for the final week of the season. Romano registered 11 tackles, 7 solo in the ECAC Northwest Bowl against St. John Fisher. Fisher rallied for a 34-20 victory, despite Romano's 3 pass breakups.

Romano led Cortland with 8 interceptions in 2009, while adding 10 pass breakups and 54 tackles. The Newburg Free Academy High School graduate also led the Red Dragons with 5 interceptions as a freshman in 2008.
